Walking Tours
Krakow is a compact city with a wealth of sites in a small area, making walking an excellent way to enjoy it. The Old Town is surrounded by a ring of parkland, called the ‘Planty’, which follows the route of the original town walls. The defensive walls and towers were torn down in the 19th century and replaced with landscaped gardens and paths, and this provides a fantastic, car-free boulevard where visitors can wander. Within the Old Town itself, there are hardly any cars, making Krakow a safe and easy place to wander around, on your own or in the company of a guide.
